Walea Hale was built in 2011, located on the east side of the Big Island, in a small enclave called Vacationland in Kapoho. The area received its name years back when the locals and Hawaiians would use the Wai'Opae Tidepools for relaxation, leisure, fishing, and fun. The Wai' Opae Tidepools, located in the neighborhood is a protected marine life sanctuary. Personally, I consider this gem the best snorkeling on this side of the island. Walea Hale is a two-bedroom home with a king and queen respectively, a small den with a full size futon and two full bathrooms. It has an open feel with ceiling fans throughout. The modern, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, featuring stainless steel appliances, a long center island can accommodate up to six at the breakfast bar in addition to a dining area.
The lanai features teak furniture and hammocks for lounging. For your grilling pleasure, there is a full sized gas grill on the lanai and if you feel adventurous, you can do a kalua pig “traditional style” using the imu pit.
The living room has a 32” flat screen TV, DVD player, and a nice DVD movie library. We also provide you with a secured wireless internet connection as well as a telephone with free calls to the mainland.
Forgot to bring your mask and snorkel? No worries! We have some you can use. And once you come home from the tide pools, there is also an outside shower you can use to rinse off.
Play all day on the island - swimming, sunbathing, snorkelling, biking, fishing, sight-seeing and retire to a comfortable vacation house for the evening. You will find that Walea Hale offers you a comfortable accomodation, with easy access to the beautiful sights of the Big Island.
During your stay, please help yourself to any papayas, tomatoes, coconut and lilikoi that may be ready for picking.

Do have a big party that requires more space or privacy? The downstairs is available to rent for overflow. It's a one bedroom with a queen bed. There is also a full bathroom, kitchenette that includes a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and a sink. The living area also has a full size sleeper sofa. Please ask for more details.
